The Invention Patent is the equivalence of the ‘regular' patent in other jurisdictions.   An   Invention is ‘a new technological solution regarding any product, method or its   innovation', according to the China Patent Law. The valid period of an invention   patent is   20 years.

  China is a member of PCT. An applicant of international application designating   China   can also seek standard patent protection in Hong Kong and Macau. The   China State   Intellectual Property Office is one of the designated patent offices for   granting standard   patent registrations in Hong Kong.
