The definition of a design in a Design Patent is ‘a new design regarding product's   shape,   pattern, color or their combination, which gives an aesthetic feeling and is   applicable for   industrial use', according to the China Patent Law.

  The valid period of a design patent is 10 years.

  Design patent has the value of being used as evidence of novelty for a wide range of   intellectual property enforcements.
